NFL Week 15 Storylines and Best Bet

Miami Heads to Buffalo

This is a massive game on so many levels. The Dolphins already beat Buffalo once in Miami. If they can do it again tonight, they would move to within one game of the division lead and hold the tie-breaker via head to head record. With Miami’s fairly easy remaining schedule (GB, NE, NYJ), they have a good chance at winning out. That would put a ton of pressure on Buffalo the rest of the season and they have a tough Week 17 game at Cincinnati. To make matters worse for Buffalo, a loss against Miami would push them out of the one seed (unless Houston can somehow beat Kansas City).

If Buffalo were to come away with a victory, they would virtually lock down the AFC East and force Miami into scramble mode for a wild card spot. The Dolphins would be pushed to 8-6 and depending on what the Jets, Patriots and Chargers do on Sunday, we could have a 4 team pile up for the 6th and 7th seeds.

Lions Climbing

The easiest part of Detroit’s schedule couldn’t have come at a better time. They still have hope for the playoffs at 6-7, especially considering they face the Jets, Panthers, Bears and Packers. The question is, will we finally see the Lions turn a corner and achieve success or will they let us down at the very end? I am not a Detroit fan, but it would be fun to see this offense in the playoffs, especially if the game is in a dome or warm weather.

NFC South Still Up for Grabs

The Panthers and Falcons sit within one game of the Buccaneers. Assuming Tampa Bay loses to Cincinnati tomorrow, which most of America believe will happen, Carolina has a chance to move into first place. Yes, you read that right. With a Panthers win and a Buccaneers loss, a 6-8 Carolina team would be leading this division after 15 weeks. A team that has seen Baker Mayfield, PJ Walker and Sam Darnold all lineup behind center.

Giants-Commanders Rematch

Since 2017, teams that are off a bye after Week 12 and are playing at home are 25-9 SU. This trend should give a lot of hope to Commanders fans. Both squads currently sit at 7-5-1 and both would be in the playoffs if they started today. However both of these teams desperately need this win to keep their postseason hopes high. The tie in Week 13 does help, but the Lions and Seahawks are breathing down their necks and Green Bay isn’t far behind. Whoever loses this matchup will be moved to the 7th seed and is only 2 Detroit wins and 1 more loss from out of the playoffs.

Best Bet

Philadelphia Eagles -2.5 / New Yorks Giants +10.5 (*Teaser)

We’re keeping it simple like we did last week. One bet to hopefully continue our winning streak and get us back to even. It might not be the best strategy mathematically, but sometimes you just have to see the ball go through the net.
