NFL Week 6 Biggest Games, Best Bets and FanDuel Lineup
Seattle Seahawks @ Cincinnati Bengals
This looks like it could be the best offensive game of the week. The total is only 45, but with how few good games there are this week, it’s actually on the higher end. We finally saw what looked like the real Joe Burrow against the Cardinals last Sunday. Tee Higgins is still listed as questionable with his rib injury. Meaning the offense still isn’t all the way back. I’m still leery on this team as a whole though. Very rarely do teams go from an injured mess to a top 10 team again so quickly.
Seattle is fresh off a bye and looking to advance their 3-game win streak. Geno Smith and DK Metcalf have been battling injuries all year, so this bye couldn’t have come at a better time. A win here would be massive for them come playoff time because of how hard their schedule is late in the season. If they can beat Cincinnati and then Arizona, they’d be 6-1 with 4 games to go before they play San Francisco, Dallas, San Francisco and Philadelphia in that order.
Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The battle for the AFC South. Indianapolis is already 2-1 in division, with their one loss coming at the hands of Jacksonville. The Jaguars are coming back from an impressive road trip to London and now need to get back in the swing of things stateside. The Colts will be without Anthony Richardson for the foreseeable future. He sustained an injury to his shoulder that will keep him out 4-8 weeks. Many people are saying the loss of Richardson is actually a gain since they are now starting Gardner Minshew, the best backup quarterback in the league. It will be interesting to see what Shane Steichen does with this offense now, given he has to tailor it to a completely different play style.
Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Chargers
Every single year the Cowboys suck the public in with their shiny uniforms, their pick sixes and their beatdowns of bad teams. Then every year when the Cowboys actually play good teams, they get slaughtered. It’s a tale as old as time. The question is, will we see it play out again this week? The Chargers are an above average team in the NFL. Somewhere between 10 and 16. They aren’t the 49ers, but they’re scoring 27.5 points per game. That’s good for 7th best in the league. I have faith in Dallas’ defense to avenge their poor performance last week, but can Dallas’ offense do the same? CeeDee Lamb is reportedly very frustrated with his current role. He has every right to be given he has fewer targets this season than guys like Tutu Atwell and Robert Woods. We’ll see on Monday if Dallas takes Lamb’s concerns seriously.
Washington Commanders +2.5 @ Atlanta Falcons
I still don’t believe in the Atlanta Falcons. Even their supposed great running game hasn’t been what people said it will be. Washington is right at league average in run defense DVOA. Their passing defense has not been great so far, but has Desmond Ridder shown us anything that makes us think he can take advantage of it? Last week was his best game in the NFL, but he was rarely pressured and didn’t take a single sack. Washington is 7th in sacks per game and 6th in sack percentage. Ridder won’t be able to sit in the pocket and process all of his reads. Plus, we have the added advantage of Washington coming off of a bye. We think this is a great spot for the Commanders.
Philadelphia Eagles -1 / Los Angeles Rams -.5
We haven’t given out many teasers this year. This one is too good to pass up though. Philadelphia is taking on the Jets this week and while the Jets defense scares me, the Jets offense does not. They have been better since their almost win over the Chiefs, but they still turned the ball over twice and had a couple more fumbles they were lucky to recover last week. I think Philadelphia handles them well enough to secure the win for us here.
Los Angeles has been playing much better than most expected. I didn’t understand how much hate they were receiving before the beginning of the season. Sure, they weren’t going to be a great team, but definitely weren’t going to be at the bottom of the barrel like most people thought. They’ve played a very tough schedule so far and come out 2-3. This Cardinals team won’t be able to stop Nakua and Kupp. At -.5, we just need them to win.
We said last week we would have more plays this week. We did at the lines being given out on Wednesday and Thursday, but the Sunday morning NFL lines are arguably the hardest to bet against. We still want to give out our picks though, so going forward our bets will be given out every Wednesday. You’ll have our gambling picks on Wednesday and then the weekend preview will still come out Sunday mornings.
