Top 10 Wide Receivers Entering 2023
1. Justin Jefferson
What can you really say about the best wide receiver in the league? The ability to go up and get any ball thrown in his vicinity. The already expert route running at such a young age. This guy is going to be a menace in the league for years to come.
2. Ja’Marr Chase
Chase and Burrow form the greatest wide receiver-quarterback tandem in the league. Over a thousand yards in his first two seasons and last year he only played 12 games. If the Bengals can find a way to keep Burrow, Chase and Higgins together, this offense will continue to be unstoppable.
3. Tyreek Hill
Fastest guy in the NFL hands down. Just when the defense thinks they finally have him stopped, he somehow wiggles outof the tackle for another 25 yards. Oddly enough for a short wide receiver, he actually excels at high pointing the ball. Probably because he has over a 40-inch vertical.
4. Cooper Kupp
Somehow this dude is always open. The Rams don’t even try to hide the fact the ball is going his way on almost every play and yet no one can stop it. He’s averaged over 8 catches a game the last two seasons. He might not be as flashy as some of the guys on this list, but there’s something to be said for how hard defenses try and stop him, but simply can’t.
5. Davante Adams
The longtime Packers’ legend is still putting up big numbers year in and year out. He suffers a little in rankings because of his style. Similar to Tim Duncan in the NBA, he’ll ball every year and always put up numbers. But the quiet way he does it leads a lot of people to forget about him on a weekly basis. Especially now that he is in Las Vegas. Either way, he’s still a no doubt top-5 receiver.
6. Stefon Diggs
Diggs was good in Minnesota, but absolutely exploded once he had Josh Allen throwing him the ball. Some recent reports have said he’s unhappy with his current situation, but that could just be weird, wide receiver drama. Five straight one thousand yard seasons and three straight years over 100 receptions. He’s as good as they come.
7. DeAndre Hopkins
Somehow, the NFL players, coaches and scouts didn’t even have DHop inside the top 15. That’s absolutely mind boggling to me. He’s only had one injury riddled season in his 10 year career and has always produced at a high level. I don’t claim to know as much about the NFL as the people who make it their full-time jobs, but I don’t know of any point someone could make that puts Hopkins outside the top 10.
8. AJ Brown
Like Stefon Diggs, AJ Brown was good on his former team, but once he got to the Eagles last season he erupted. 145 catches for 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns. He’s one of the younger players on this list as he’ll only be 26 this season. The Eagles will have a stellar wide out for years to come. He’s coming for Harold Carmichael’s all-time Philadelphia receiving yards record.
9. Mike Evans
Evans and DHop have been criminally underrated this offseason. Maybe he has lost a step to the keen observer, but it doesn’t look like that to me. Nine NFL seasons and nine thousand yard campaigns. It’s unbelievable what this guy has done with such limited talent at quarterback. Yes, Tom Brady saved him the last three seasons, but that doesn’t explain all he did with Jameis Winston. Evans still has at least a year or two of elite level play in him.
10. CeeDee Lamb
Every year he’s improving and every year he moves higher up on everyone’s rankings. Over 1,300 yards last year with Cooper Rush playing five games. I am a little worried his stats could take a dip with Mike McCarthy saying he wants to run the ball more, but that doesn’t take away from his skill. Lamb can ball.
